Marty
Wells, a member of Newport Lutheran Church, participated in a
Lutheran World Relief Women to Women Coffee Tour to Tanzania in
November of 2004. Following the two week tour, she traveled to
Iringa, and then to Kimala, the Companion Congregation with Newport
Lutheran.
Kimala,
a village of 3117 persons, is located in the hills east of Iringa.
The churches there are Lutheran, Catholic, Anglican, and Pentecostal.
Kimala Evangelical Lutheran Church has 300-350 adult members,
with a main church and two preaching points. Pastor Raphael Mdegellah
is assisted by three evangelists.

Marty
visited the preaching points and participated in the Sunday
