Music Ministry

Our church is blessed with many musically talented people, and with worship filled with music in a variety of ways. Come to listen or come to join in from the sounds of the trumpet, accordion, piano or organ, the voices of children, adults, or everyone in hymn-sing. Listen to a treat from the bell choir or the family band. We welcome you here.

Children's Choir

The SonShine Singers welcome the especially young children in the Preschool through Kindergarten age range. The group meets regularly on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. as a portion of Sunday School and makes occasional performances during Sunday worship.

Youth Choir

Youth between the ages of first through seventh grades make up the Joyful Noise Choir, which also makes occasional performances during Sunday worship. Members of Joyful Noise meet for practice near the end of worship services on Sunday.

Senior Choir

High school age students and adults form the Creation Choir which performs more regularly during Sunday morning worship services. The group meets once a week on Wednesday evenings to rehearse and develop friendships.

The Bell Choir has been a part of Newport Lutheran Church since 1990 and brings a unique listening experience to worship services. Hymns are performed with the handbells, each member of the group chimes with a separate note in each hand. The melody that results is charming. The Bell Choir meets once a week and performs once a month during Sunday worship.
