School
Held
on Sundays at 10:15 a.m., following worship services, Sunday
School is open to children of all ages. Group's "Hands
On Bible Curriculum" is used for pre-school through fourth
graders. Fifth graders and up use various other resources and
Bible Study books for their curriculum.
Sunday
School students also make up the SonShine Singers Children's
Choir, and the Joyful Noise Youth Choir as part of the
music ministry at Newport Lutheran.
8th and
9th graders attending Sunday School are part of the Confirmation
program.
Confirmation
Class
Classes
are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for students of
confirmation. The classes are taught by Pastor Sue in a series designed to reaffirm the student's faith in
God through belief in Jesus.
Classes
culminate in the Rite of Confirmation ceremony where students
present a Statement of Faith and a memory reading from the Bible.
